This workshop will provide participants the opportunity to complete both a classical-style still life and an alla prima landscape oil painting based on a rural Ontario landscape. Attention will be given to the development of form through careful shading and blending techniques. Michael will use detailed step-by-step instructional handouts, demonstrations with individual attention given to each member. He will also cover the fundamentals of classical painting – such as underpainting and glazing and traditional methods of alla prima and Plein air landscape painting. There will also be the opportunity to experiment with subject matter and have fun creating your own original works of art.
